Twitch shakily rose to his feet. “You think… that’s gonna… kill…” He slammed into the ground. Vox rose behind him, howling in rage.
"Great, look what you’ve done. Worthless child." He turned to Aeon and said, "He was getting weak anyways." Vox melted into the ground, leaving the fallen Twitch.
"Ass," Twitch said before he coughed up blood. He stood back up, and leaned against a rock."Could have eased up a bit. It wouldn’t have taken that much force." He brushed off the gash, and a red aura began to heal the wound. "How about… an apology. Sorry about the damn demon thing. He’s always been tough."
Twitch found the tip of Aeon’s sword at his face.
"Who are you and what was that?" Aeon demanded. He wasn’t going too take things lightly after he just randomly attacks and tried too kill him.
Twitch raised his hands in surrender. “Relax, dude. My name is Hal. Hal Mercura.” He smiled just a little, to show he had no fear. “But you can call me Twitch. And that… was a demon.” Twitch kicked at his shadow, which appeared a shade darker than Aeon’s. “His name’s Vox. He’s been connected to me for… a long time.” Twitch’s smile degraded to a deep frown. “Sometimes, he… he get’s ahold of me. You gotta understand, he has a talent to twist your thoughts.” He put his finger on the sword Aeon aimed at him and tipped it away, extending his hand. “I’m sorry. It won’t happen again. And you are…?”
Aeon eyed him suspiciously, the presence of that demon could still be sensed, he could take chances. So he just made his sword disappeared and answered his question with, “Aeon.”
Twitch cocked his head, “Odd name. But okay.” He withdrew his hand, obviously denied the mannerism. He caught Aeon staring at the shadow. “Relax, I said. Vox doesn’t pop out much. He only had that chance when he took control. As long as I’m on top, he’s not getting up.”
Twitch turned in the direction of the road. “Maybe… I should just go. It seems like I just cause trouble wherever I go.” He picked his sword up from the ground and sheathed it.
"You sure didn’t seem on top back there," Aeon said before sighing. By now the minister is at the destination, but what if this guy’s demon ran loose? "What exactly are your methods on keeping that thing in check?" He asked.
"Methods? Same way you keep an unruly toddler in check: Punish for bad behavior. I can always just hurt him, after all, he IS alive." Twitch sobered as he continued. "And, as I said, he has a talent to twist our thoughts. It’s like… he persuades me to let loose, and that’s when he takes over. I try my hardest but… You don’t know what it’s like, having a voice in your head."
Aeon remained silent for a while. What he described, was not far from what he deals with. He feels constantly over and over something trying too succumb to anger, to the darkness in his heart that is connected to his aura. Yet another presence is there, telling him not too. It felt like he was being tugged on one side or the other, regardless on what he wants.
"I know the feeling actually," Aeon said in a tone that felt like he was mourning about it.
Twitch raised his head slightly. Maybe the guy understood what he’s going through. If that was the case… “How do you do it? Keep sane? All you want is just a moment of peace, but you can’t even be alone.” He rubbed his temples as he spoke. “I’ve already lost my mind. I’ve been mad for many years. I can’t keep it under control. Where did I fail?”
The demon laughed form his shadow. “You weren’t strong enough.”
Twitch ground his teeth, saying “SHUT THE HELL UP,” and slashed at Vox.
"Well… There were rare times when the darkness in me released. It follows on the rage I have gained through out my life. But it was stopped because of people I hold dear, wanting them safe mattered. I meditate and train with my powers too have a better sense of control, too keep calm during conflicting moments. That anger you showed is a prime example of it showing that you have no control. You can fall, everyone does, but you can get back up," Aeon spoke.
Twitch frowned. “Any control I had was lost a long time ago. I fell, and I never got back up. Trust me, if you did what I did, you’d feel like losing control all the time too.”
Vox rose from the ground, and stared into the distance. “What do you want, freak?” Twitch growled.
Vox raised his hand in a silence motion. The expression on his alien face was dead serious. He pointed towards the other side of the road, where a mysterious figure stood. “We’re being watched.”
Aeon didn’t even notice the figures presents. Judging how Vox was serious, this guy wasn’t a passers-by. /p>
